Salita al Passo dell' Oregone

Today we visit Monte Peralba, the highest peak of the lower Comelico along a stretch of the Carnic crossing. Leave the car shortly after the Malga Chivion and go up towards the Passo dell’Oregone on the CAI-134 path. Arrived at the Italian-Austrian border, we turn to the right and begin to climb the slope to Peralba along the normal route dedicated to Pope John Paul II, with CAI-131 sign. After the first stretch where you have to climb on easy rocks at times exposed, the path proceeds with hairpin bends on scree until you reach a canal equipped with a metal rope, beyond which, you look out over the south side of the mountain now in Crest. We reach the top in about ten minutes along the ridge towards the west.
