Google Maps – Mount Vancomun
Wonderful day for walking in the mountains. I then go up to Mount Vancomun along the CAI 128 path which first leads to the Casera delle Drotelle then crosses the road to the alm (CAI 170) and climbs towards the Forcella Val Carnia taking the Traversata Carnica (CAI 172). From here begins the climb to the mountain, I cross the Traversata Carnica along a canal equipped with simple metal ropes. Aided by some well-made steps I reach the ridge that winds from the top towards Col Chiastellin, here you leave the path with signpost and in about twenty minutes I reach the double peak of the mountain. On the way back I walk along the crest of Col Chiastellin and at its summit I go down through meadows to Casera Chiastellin where I go down on the forest road with CAI 197 trail sign.
